Best Practice in Teaching and Learning - Data informed Teaching and Learning - Strategic intelligence information portal 2024-05-10 Online

Kindly note: Registrants will receive an email communicating the relevant information.

Purpose:

Colleagues attending the session can expect a practical demonstration and real-world examples of using the Strategic Intelligence PowerBI dashboard/tool to extract accurate data about their module to enhance module-specific teaching and learning. Data retrieved from the dashboard will allow academics to gain insight into, amongst other things, student registration and enrollment numbers, student profiles, pass and throughput rates, and STLES data.

Outcomes:

After the demonstration, participants will acquire information about the following:

  • how to access the strategic intelligence information portal (PowerBI), retrieve, download and interpret data that will inform teaching and learning practice in their classroom; and
  • best practices illustrating the data-informed teaching and learning practice in real-world cases.

Recipients will be required to apply the acquired knowledge on the use of the Student Intelligence Dashboard by completing the following activities to obtain a participant badge:

  1. access and filter data on the dashboard to access their module's information;
  2. export a PDF report of the filtered data; and
  3. submit proof of completion of the downloaded report as instructed during the webinar.
