Purpose:

This Lunch & Learn session aims to provide participants with a practical, hands-on opportunity to explore the use of leading AI language models—ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini—for generating multiple-choice questions. The session will foster critical engagement with these tools, enabling participants to assess their potential benefits and limitations within an educational context. Additionally, the session will encourage thoughtful discussion on the ethical considerations of integrating AI into academic practice, particularly in relation to bias, accountability, and the responsible use of technology in learning and assessment.

Outcomes:

  • generate multiple-choice questions using AI language models in a structured and effective manner;
  • critically evaluate the strengths and limitations of AI-generated multiple-choice questions concerning accuracy, quality, and pedagogical value;
  • identify and discuss ethical considerations associated with using AI for assessment purposes, including concerns around bias, accountability, and academic integrity;
  • reflect on the appropriate use of AI in teaching and learning contexts, considering when and how AI-generated content can be meaningfully and responsibly integrated; and
  • engage in collaborative critique and refinement of AI-generated multiple-choice questions, ensuring alignment with sound educational principles and learning objectives.
