Purpose:

This AI Lunch and Learn session aims to empower lecturers to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their assessment design, enriching students’ learning journeys by weaving Bloom’s Taxonomy and critical thinking. Through engaging discussion and hands-on tasks, you will uncover why and how AI can deepen cognitive challenge, reflect on the ethical and pedagogical dimensions of student AI use, and leave equipped with clear, practical guidelines to adapt or redesign your assessments. We aim to spark fresh ideas, sharpen your evaluative lens, and foster responsible, independent thinkers in your classrooms.

Outcomes:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • explain the educational relevance of integrating Artificial Intelligence, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Critical Thinking in assessment design;
  • evaluate the ethical considerations and pedagogical implications of student AI use in higher education contexts; and
  • apply practical guidelines to adapt or redesign an assessment task to foster deeper thinking and promote responsible AI use.
