Teaching & Learning One-Day AI Workshops for Lecturers (PC) 2025-09-17

Teaching & Learning One-Day AI Workshops for Lecturers (PC) 2025-09-17 In-Person

Purpose:

The purpose of the 1-day workshop is to support academic staff to critically engage with and effectively integrate artificial intelligence (AI) tools into teaching, learning, and assessment practices.

In response to the evolving higher education landscape, these sessions aim to promote pedagogically sound, ethically grounded, and policy-aligned use of AI.
Lecturers will explore practical applications of AI that support student learning while upholding academic integrity and institutional values.

Outcomes:

By the end of the workshop series, participants will be able to:

  • evaluate current assessment practices through the lens of the AI Assessment Scale (AIAS) and identify opportunities for responsible AI integration in diverse teaching and assessment contexts;
  • apply concepts and strategies from the “AI in Assessment” lecturer course to redesign or enhance at least one current assessment using AI;
  • interpret recent changes to institutional policies related to academic integrity, including the revised Academic Integrity Policy, Teaching and Learning SOP, and guidelines for ethical and responsible AI use;
  • explain the pedagogical and ethical implications of AI use in assessment and learning, particularly concerning plagiarism detection and Turnitin functionalities;
  • utilise a curated AI toolkit to create or enhance teaching and learning materials, including assessments, multimedia content, tutor bots, and other digital resources; and
