Provide the opportunity to explore the free and open sharing of educational resources that promote the building of knowledge societies and enables access to the global knowledge commons.


Purpose:

Discussion on the impact of Open Educational Resources (OER) and its potential to facilitate the expansion of quality education and learning opportunities. Also explaining the relevance of OER augmented by the exponential growth in online accessibility afforded by the wide range of new applications and devices.

 

Outcomes:

Enables lecturers to engage with the growing trend towards online learning and the power of networks/collaboration that opens doors for both lecturers and students to access the global knowledge commons from almost anywhere and at any time.
