Purpose of the APD opportunity:
The purpose of this webinar is to empower lecturers with the tools they will need to inspire the cognitive revolution in their classrooms. These tools will enable students to unlock their metacognitive reflective skills and to better utilize critical thinking in their work. This is done in order to inculcate a culture of mindfulness and to change behaviors to more beneficial habits of mind.
Outcomes of the APD opportunity:
At the end of this Webinar, the participants should be able to:

Understand the major cognitive education theories as espoused by Facione, Paul and Elder, Hyerle, De Bono, Costa and Kalick, and Feuerstein

Practically implement three major strategies, namely Thinking Maps, Six Thinking Hats, and Habits of Mind

Develop a reflective checklist and working with the elements of a plan, to develop mindfulness
