Creating higher order objective assessment in an online environment 2021-08-03 Online
Kindly note: Registrants will receive an email communicating the relevant information, as well as the link for attending the webinar.
Why shouldn't I miss this!
One of the advantages of objective assessment (e.g. multiple-choice questions) is that it reduces the marking load of a lecturer. If the objective assessment is used in an online format, these questions are automatically marked. However, a challenge that many lecturers experience is creating objective questions that test higher-order thinking skills. In this session, you will learn practical strategies to develop objective questions that test cognitive skills beyond recall and understanding.
Purpose of the CPD opportunity:
Enable academic staff to create higher-order objective assessments in an online learning environment.
Outcomes of the CPD opportunity:
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will:
- Using Bloom’s taxonomy to pitch questions on different cognitive levels;
- How to create good quality multiple-choice questions;
- Four practical strategies to create objective questions that test higher-order thinking skills.
Expectations/ Requirements:
Knowledge about the test and quizzes tool in eFundi.
